Stefan Raabe

is an independent filmmaker from Melbourne whose passion for film and TV came from working with directors and producers during a five year career as a writer in advertising. Searching for a new creative direction he left his job and travelled through Papua New Guinea and remote parts of South East Asia, returning home to study documentary filmmaking at Open Channel.

Three years on he is now enjoying work in multiple facets as a writer, director, editor and shooter, with numerous screen credits covering small and

large-scale productions in documentary, short narrative, and TV commercials.

Currently he is in

pre-production to complete his first fully funded independent short in 2014, and is editing an 8-part documentary series he directed and shot profiling community radio stations across Melbourne with the project being executively produced by Open Channel and supported by Film Victoria, Screen Australia and the Community Broadcasting Foundation.
